How to add new students to FlashAcademy, edit their details, and remove students who've left. Covers individual entries and bulk uploads, plus how to reset student passwords.
Use this at the start of a year, when admitting new learners, or when tidying up the dashboard after students move on.
Follow these steps to add students manually, via CSV import, or through an MIS integration.
Step 1: Navigate to the Students Tab
Log in to your FlashAcademy Teacher Dashboard.
Click on the Students tab in the navigation bar.
Here, you'll see a list of all students with a license, including their assigned classes, content set and phase (if applicable), and license type.
Step 2: Understanding Student Actions
A green dot next to a student's name indicates they were recently added.
The Actions column (three dots next to each student) allows you to:
Edit student details
Set tasks or assessments
Reset passwords
Remove a student
Editing a student lets you modify details such as first name, last name, access type, and password. Usernames cannot be edited as they are system-generated.
Step 3: Adding Students
Click the Add Students button at the top of the page. Depending on your dashboard type, you’ll see different options:
Option 1: MIS Import (for MIS Integrated Dashboards)
Click Continue on the MIS Import option.
Your MIS data will be displayed, allowing you to select students to assign licenses.
Students in grey already have a FlashAcademy license and cannot be assigned another.
Click Next, then select:
License type
Content set
App style (if applicable)
Click Continue, set a password, and confirm.
Optionally, export student login details as a CSV file.
Option 2: Adding Students Manually
Click Add Students Manually.
Fill in the student’s first name, last name, and password.
Optional fields include:
Home language
Year group
Form group
License type, app style, and content set
Click Add Student, then Continue.
You can export student login details if needed.
Option 3: CSV Import (Bulk Uploading Students)
Click CSV Import.
Download the CSV template.
Fill in the student details (first name, last name).
Upload the completed CSV file.
Students will need their Centre ID, username, and the password you have set to get into the platform.
By following these steps, you can easily manage student accounts and ensure seamless access to FlashAcademy!
