If you're having trouble granting microphone access to the FlashAcademy web application, this guide will help you troubleshoot the issue on common browsers and operating systems.

Before You Begin

Before troubleshooting browser settings, please ensure your microphone is properly set up:

  1. Check that your microphone is properly plugged in to your device.
  2. Make sure your microphone isn't muted (check for a physical mute switch on the microphone or headset).
  3. Test your microphone in another application to confirm it's working correctly.

Checking Device Settings

For Windows:

  1. Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select "Open Sound settings".
  2. Under "Input", select your microphone from the "Choose your input device" dropdown.
  3. Speak into your microphone and check if the blue bar under "Test your microphone" moves.

For Mac:

  1. Click the Apple menu and select "System Preferences".
  2. Click on "Sound" and then the "Input" tab.
  3. Select your microphone from the list of devices.
  4. Speak into your microphone and check if the input level meter moves.

If your microphone is working in these settings but not in your browser, proceed with the browser-specific instructions below.
